Cardiff Meltdown was where I played my first gig back in 1992, so it has fond memories for me. In 2006 it celebrated its 20th year of "melting down barriers between all forms of music and performance". The crowd's always friendly, the performers are always an unpredictably diverse mix of genres and styles, at the bar I can ask in Welsh for a pint of Brains SA (very important when I've spent this long living in England... diolch yn fawr Clwb Ifor!) and the people who run Meltdown (for nothing!) are about the nicest people in the whole universe. |

Highrise Performers Proudly local to the Greenbank area of Bristol, this night has featured some amazingly talented performers over the last year. Every month the small unassuming church hall is transformed into a cosy, candlelit venue with top-quality PA and stage lights - and sometimes there's food too! |
